Course Schedule

  • This course begins October 16, 2023 and ends October 29, 2023, you must complete 4 hours of training by the end date to receive credit for taking the course. This instructor-led online course is delivered with presentations, exercises, and quizzes. Progress is monitored daily.

  • Live sessions are Fridays @ 12:00-2:00 pm CT (10/20 & 10/27). Meet in real-time with your instructor. For those who cannot make it, they will be recorded and posted on your online course page.

This four-hour course works through a complete analysis using the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) System Advisor Model (SAM) to model photovoltaic-battery systems for residential and commercial behind-the-meter projects. Topics covered include: dispatch options for energy arbitrage in response to time-of-use (TOU) energy rates, dispatch options for demand charge management, and the effect of different dispatch options on battery life.
