Course Description:
This eight-hour course demonstrates how to recommend a PV system size and type, estimate its annual energy production, propose a location for the array and balance of system components, and summarize the economic impact of a residential (or small commercial) project by performing a thorough site assessment of the property.
Emphasis is placed on shade analysis and mitigation techniques, using online tools for estimating energy production and calculating payback and return on investment (ROI). Participants will learn what needs to be included in a professional, accurate, and unbiased site assessment report so potential PV system owners can make an informed decision.

Students can work through recorded presentations and exercises at their own pace. If the coursework is finished within 30 days and all assignments receive a passing grade, a completion certificate is issued.

Office Hours are available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-1 p.m. CT via Zoom. This time is available for you to ask questions and talk to an instructor in real time if desired.
