Time limit: 30 days
Full course description
Prerequisite(s): PV 101
This is an Online Self Paced Course:
Once enrolled, participants have 30 days to complete 8 hours of training and receive credit for taking the course. This instructor-led online course is delivered with recorded presentations, exercises, tutorial videos, and quizzes. Progress is monitored daily.
Office hours are Tuesdays & Thursdays @ Noon-1:00 p.m. CT. If you have any questions or would like to chat, just login and/or call anytime within the hour, and your instructor will be there.
This eight-hour course demonstrates how to recommend a PV system size and type, estimate its annual energy production, propose a location for the array and balance of system components, and summarize the economic impact of a residential (or small commercial) project by performing a thorough site assessment of the property.
Emphasis is placed on shade analysis and mitigation techniques, using online tools for estimating energy production and calculating payback and return on investment (ROI). Participants will learn what needs to be included in a professional, accurate, and unbiased site assessment report so potential PV system owners can make an informed decision.
