Course Description:

Participants in this eight-hour course will learn how to perform a site assessment for a small wind system at a residence, small farm, or similar location. The course will cover how to evaluate a site’s wind energy potential, determine wind speeds at different tower heights, make a load profile based on energy needs, determine appropriate tower heights and types for the site, estimate energy output, and calculate ballpark costs.

Participants will learn what needs to be included in a professional, accurate, and unbiased site assessment report so potential small wind energy system owners can make an informed decision.
